Dreams do come true...

I'm still in disbelief. A few hours back, my life has changed.

I've received the best surprise of my life.

There is a God who listens when you pray...

He granted all my prayers in his own 'Perfect time'.

I have found my better half, the one i will spend the rest of my life with.

The date was 11/14/06. Dave fetched me at around 10:40am. On our way to the office, he said he wanted to have lunch somewhere else (sa glorietta, westgate, powerplant.. kahit saan lang). PC trade up day so he has nothing to do in the office and it's pay-day, so i thought he just want to kill time while waiting for his new laptop. :-)
So when we arrived in the office, i opened my laptop, logged in to the network, and hurriedly went down again cause Dave is waiting. We decided to go to Power plant, still not decided as to where we will have lunch. Before eating, i saw office supplies and decided to buy some colored pens for... (ummm, wala lang. hihihi)... then we went to Tokyo Tokyo where we ate 'beef misono' sumo meal. Sarap naman food, everything seems to be normal. After lunch, i asked tart if we could drop by BodyShop. He willingly agreed to accompany me. Love ako ni tart ko e. :-)
After BodyShop, he said he wanted to have a cup of coffee at Starbucks. There are two Starbucks in powerplant, one in the mall (near Crustacia) and the other one, across the street-beside Gram's Diner. He said he wanted to go to the bigger one for the ambience. Ganda daw dun. I was hesitant to walk, init kasi. layo e. hehehe. But because i love him, sige. We went there. I still dont have a clue that my life is about to change.
When we arrived in starbucks, he checked out the 'bearista' wearing the elf costume. We've been to starbucks several times lately because of the planner. So we have been seeing this bear, almost everyday. He said he would like to buy one. Sabi ko, "i'll buy you one if you like it"... Sabi nya, no, i will buy it for you. He gave me one during chinese new year (the bearista wearing the 'dog' costume..so cute!). So i thought he thinks it's cute and it's pay-day anyway! :-) Wala lang.
Then i sat on the couch, brought out the colored pens that i bought and doodled on the receipt. I saw the paper bag with the bearista inside, i picked it up and wrote 'tarts :)' on one side. Dave said 'ako din, pasulat'. So he grabbed one of the pens and wrote something on the other side of the paper bag. I was busy checking out the colors of the pen (namamangha, ang cute kasi), when he pulled out the bear from the paper bag.

Dave: Taaaaaaaaart... Look tart.
Ebeth: Ay ang cute naman nito. Hihihi.
Dave: No, look at this! (there was something on the elf's right shoe, something sparkling!)
Ebeth: Huh? Ano to? (i was shocked, i know its a ring but i dont believe its a ring, ang gulo! :-)
Dave: Read this tart (On one side of the paper bag, he wrote "Tart, Will you marry me? I love you! -Tart Dave.
Ebeth: :-O (shocked, hindi nakagalaw, tapos ngumiti, tapos nahihilo na ako!)
Dave: (He pulled out the ring from the elf's shoe and placed it on my finger) Sumagot ka naman tart.. (he was smiling)
Ebeth: Yes! (then i hugged my tart)

At that moment, i don't know how i would describe the feeling.. I wanted to cry and laugh at the same time. It caught me by surprise. I wanted to tap the shoulders of the people sitting next to us and tell them "we just got engaged :-)"... In an ordinary, sunny, Nov 14 afternoon @ Starbucks, they don't know what's happening so i just choked as i kept my composure and tried to prevent the tears from rolling down my eyes. I laughed, smiled, tried to distract myself from the idea that i am getting married.

On our way to the office, i just couldn't fight it. I shed my tears of happiness and disbelief. Dave is 'the one'. I just couldn't believe that after all the prayers, the long search is over. I am so blessed to have a man like him. I am more than happy to share the rest of my life with him and see him as the 'father' of our future mini-tarts.

Enough said.. i'm still in cloud 9.

:-) I am so happy and looking forward to be Mrs. Ebeth Cenido in a year.
